GeoTomo Acquired GLI3D Software Ownership
from Hampson-Russell Software
GeoTomo
announced today that they have acquired the ownership of
GLI3D refraction statics software from Hampson-Russell
Software, a commercial software division of CGGVeritas.
Based in Calgary, Hampson-Russell Software began to develop
GLI3D as their first software package in 1987 when the
company was founded. GLI3D has since become a seismic
industry standard in refraction statics solution.
Dan
Hampson, President of Hampson-Russell Software said: ＾This
decision allows Hampson-Russell developers to focus all
efforts on our Reservoir Characterization suite of software
products. GLI3D seems to be a better match with GeoTomo¨s
strategy and direction.￣
Jie Zhang, President of GeoTomo LLC commented: "With the
inclusion of GLI3D in GeoTomo's near-surface solution
package TomoPlus, GeoTomo is able to offer users a complete
suite of near-surface solutions in addition to the current
high-end traveltime and waveform tomography technologies in
TomoPlus."
The
existing Hampson-Russell Limited Partnership Software
License Agreement will continue in perpetuity. GeoTomo will
continue to develop, maintain, and distribute GLI3D under a
separate agreement with end users.
