ThrustLine is a unique 2-D surface
seismic data analysis system developed by GeoTomo. Drs. Oz
Yilmaz and Jie Zhang designed and supervised the development of
the software package. ThrustLine combines advanced near-surface
imaging techniques with innovative subsurface imaging
strategies, and presents a powerful solution to difficult earth
imaging problems. It is particularly applicable to areas with
complex structures associated with overthrust tectonics and
complex near-surface with irregular topography.
The program provides a workflow that starts
with picking the first-arrivals and performing nonlinear
near-surface tomography. Wave-equation datuming is then applied
to reference the prestack data from the irregular topography to
a flat datum using the near-surface tomographic solution. Next,
the program offers a unique approach for building an RMS
velocity field associated with events in their migrated
positions. Picking RMS velocities for complex structures such
as those associated with overthrust tectonics after migration
rather than before migration is essential for the subsequent
earth modeling in depth. Based on the resulting RMS velocity
field, the workflow continues with earth modeling and imaging in
depth - all using advanced wave-equation imaging algorithms.
The final deliverables - RMS velocity field, velocity-depth
model, prestack time and depth migrations, demigration,
poststack depth migration, and project history, are all well
organized by the program, and any of these can be displayed by a
single mouse click.
ThrustLine is designed for Windows, Linux
Workstation, and Linux Clusters. For any evaluation request, please
